The seat stops are nothing more than bolts that the end stops a half inch or so shy of the seat spring thus allowing it to hit it only when the spring is flexed down by extra heavy weight. I used a carriage bolt for my stops and installed it where it would hit the head of the bolt. It looks like your seat is mounted far back and the angle iron has a hole drilled for a stop but its a little far back. You might move the seat up some and just install a bolt in the last hole toward the rear of the seat support and do away with the angle iron. If you use the 2X4's it will take all the shock absorbtion out and make the ride a lot rougher. OEM Tractor has the new springs but yours look fine to me.
