Marvin - Punch below for a wiring diagram that will work for your tractor. From your description it sounds like your Super A orginally was a cutout relay. The voltage regulator you have now is technically not "correct" for your tractor. HOWEVER a voltage regulator will do a better job of maintaining and not overcharging the battery will the old style cutout. So go ahead and wire up the regulator per the diagram, then polarize the generator and you should be all set...
