Actually synthetic not "more slippery" then conventional (dino) oil.
However it is much more expensive and if you plan on changing it after a short break in period it would only make sense to use cheaper oil for that short period.
Synthetic has two features that make it superior to conventional oil, its ability to withstand high tempatures without breaking down and its ability to carry more contaminants allowing it to stay in the crank case longer. If your engine doesn't run that hot or if you are still planning on changing your oil every 200-250 or so hours you'd be money ahead using regular dino multigrade without compromising performance.
