he might have just put rings and sleeves and messed with the head some. the reason for the work on the motor was oil using, not lack of power or missing. the motor ran good before the overhaul but used oil like someone had left the drain plug out. and it hasn't used a drop yet.but now we are splitting it to replace the thrust washers in range trans.truth is it isn't my tractor its a neighbors and i'm just trying to help him out with it.i'm not really sure what he paid the guy to do to the motor but i do thank you for your replies.
