I'm with Doug on this one. Six volts is plenty good for a tractor this size as long as the connections are good. If it's not cranking well on six, throwing more voltage to the starter is just a band-aid cure because somewhere down the road the bad connections/starter or the need for a tune up will come back to haunt.Jim
