I did one on my SMTA a few years back and believe it is similar. As mentioned, get a repair manuel, either blue ribbon or IT, preferably both. A parts book helps also. There are some bolts that are hard to find without the manuel. Cost will vary depending upon what you need to do. I was able to get by with rebult ramp and rollers, my ta clutch plate and preseure plate were ok, You may want to replace your tractor clutch while you got ti split. I built some split stands to hold the front like the ones shown in IT manuel. I had one for the rear that was ok when only the transmission housing was on it but a bit weak when I hung ta tube back on. I used a tractor loader to take center tube out. The long line up bolts really help, seems like the rear ones were 5/8 and front are 3/4 but can't remember for sure. If you are mechanically inclined you can do it.
