I have a long block for a M. Took it from a running tractor. Head is on it, no accesories, No rocker arms, valve cover, oil pan or oil pump, carb intake, distributor, governor.
Thie engine ran good, carried good oil pressure, had a t i s c o engine kit installed a few years ago. the long block is still all together, wrapped up in plastic.
Or, I have a M block, bored for 450 sleeves. takes it out to 281 ci in M clothes.
Dave, I may know where there is a good short block for a SM-450,, let me check see if its still there!! wasnt stuck, probably needs to be overhauled. was in a early 400 in a puller, dressed up like a SMTA,,,, they quit pulling years ago, and the carcass is sitting out in a parking lot! Had a new heavy duty TA, pressed steel rims, but, now its parts. Last I heard, could buy the whole tractor for 1350,,, which is a 400 LP,,,,,, So it came with LP hood and parts for the 400. Just thought Id tell ya bout it,,, I know it was still there, and if I could, I would have gotten it,,, but I figured,,, they might get back into pulling, or fix it back up,,,, but, never had, and said, never will,,, soo,,, FYI....
