Hi all.I've posted this to The Antique Farmall Discussion board and one gentleman said post here also. Hello everyone. I'm a 37 year old mechanic and have wanted an old tractor for years. No real reason why, just wanted it. On the way by the local crusher today, I saw a gentleman in line dragging a 1951 McCormick-Deering in to be crushed for weight. Short ending, I paid 120 bucks and got him to bring it out to my shop not far away. After I unloaded it, He asked me if I wanted the other one too. It was a 1952 International W9, Both are 650 diesels. It is about 50 miles from me so I have to go get it. This one (McCormick) will supposedly start on the gasoline but won't run on diesel. We unloaded in a snowstorm so I didn't get a chance to play at all. Now If ANYONE has any words of wisdom, links or advice please share or point me in the right direction to get this thing operable. I put a flower pot on it to disguise it but my wife is gonna catch me . PS that's all I know about old tractors so far so bear with me if I seem kinda slow. Though the nosepiece decal says W9, Since I have a diesel Isn't this a WD9 ? I was told it (both) were 650 diesels. But I've read on;y about 450 diesels so now I'm not sure what I have. Where would I look to get numbers off it to find out what I'm starting with ? Thanks to all. I've read your archives this evening with great interest and hope to get to ride this thing one day. The Great Escape - by Dave Hollrah. It all began Monday with a little baling of second crop on the lake shore field, and as I drove out past my sister and her hubby's place, this small calling sound could be heard from the general direction of their manure pile. Out of the yard, over the cows and bale piles, through the dozer piles, poplars, and brush, out onto the ditch grade road, past the noisy 6.2 diesel engine pulling my well traveled Suburban along. Well it sure didn't take me long to figure out what it was because I alrea
