1951 McCormick Deering W9 ?? WD9

Hi all.I've posted this to The Antique Farmall Discussion board and one gentleman said post here also. Hello everyone. I'm a 37 year old mechanic and have wanted an old tractor for years. No real reason why, just wanted it. On the way by the local crusher today, I saw a gentleman in line dragging a 1951 McCormick-Deering in to be crushed for weight. Short ending, I paid 120 bucks and got him to bring it out to my shop not far away. After I unloaded it, He asked me if I wanted the other one too. It was a 1952 International W9, Both are 650 diesels. It is about 50 miles from me so I have to go get it. This one (McCormick) will supposedly start on the gasoline but won't run on diesel. We unloaded in a snowstorm so I didn't get a chance to play at all. Now If ANYONE has any words of wisdom,links or advice please share or point me in the right direction to get this thing operable. I put a flower pot on it to disguise it but my wife is gonna catch me . PS that's all I know about old tractors so far so bear with me if I seem kinda slow. Though the nosepiece decal says W9, Since I have a diesel Isn't this a WD9 ? I was told it (both) were 650 diesels. But I've read on;y about 450 diesels so now I'm not sure what I have. Where would I look to get numbers off it to find out what I'm starting with ?
