I don"t think that the sc sleeves will fit in the 240 block. I have been looking for a good sc block for about a year (it seems like "next week" never comes). Only the sc and sa used the 354 898 R1-4 crankcases. Rebuilding the 240 motor would probably be your best bet.

What is wrong with your block ? An external crack behind the carb is easily repairable. Cracks in the deck that go into the sleeve bores are more of a problem.

There are a bunch of motors that will work in a sc chassis.
