I just purchased this tractor and had some pretty extensive work done to it. (New clutch, engine rebuilt, fuel pump rebuilt, alternator rebuilt, new battery to name a few things!!) It has the Diesel engine in it. On the drive home from the shop I noticed that it took a lot of steering wheel movement to get any change in directional change at all in the tractor. It seems fine at lower speeds and higher gears with lower rpms. I think from my studies on the net that the steering uses the same system as the hydraulics and was wondering if there was some kind of adjustment for it or is it just plain worn out? this tractor has been used hard for many years and is ready for some TLC. Also does anyone have any suggestions on good manuals for these tractors? I have some mechanical ability myself but usually leave the more complicated stuff to my mechanic. Thannks in advance

To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
