I have a 484 that I'm using to clear our land and the other day something hit the fuel filter area hard and I think it broke the bowl and beat up the fuel filter area a bit.
On my model, there is only one fuel filter on the lower left side behind the between the clutch and the alternator.
When I got down there to look at it, the bowl was gone, the filter was dinged up, and so I removed several bolts and washers and gaskets.
I ordered a couple of new filters and bowls from a (relatively) local IH dealer and received them today so I went back out to the tractor to try and assemble it.
Because I'm not exactly sure how it looked before I started, I had a hard time figuring out how to put it back together so that it would seal just right. I think I'm close, but it doesn't feel 100% solid.
I decided to try and start it, but I could never get fuel to come into the bowl, and so I can get it to start at this point. (Now, I have to charge my batt!)
Does anyone know how the filter goes back on with the bowl or could take pictures and let me know?
If I'm pretty close, how can I get fuel to travel down toward the bowl. The tractor is facing downhill, so gravity should be my friend here. I've put in a couple of gallons of fuel, but it just doesn't seem to be getting pulled down.
