my 1942 h has a starter and a 6 volt battery period. no generator no regulators nothing,the 6 volt battery with a jump start barely turns it over and the cables are big, i've been told to put a 12 volt battery in it, will this starter handle a 12 volt also. also is it true that this is origonal equiptment and the battery never gets a charge.
