Piston rings weren't that great back in the 1940's so I doubt the story of not having a rebuild. My brother and I bought a new 1949 Dodge Coronet and it drank oil. Even when new. A new set of rings installed in 1953 and that cured the oil burning. I drove it to Florida in 1955 just before I was I was discharged from the Army. I then pulled a mobile home from Ft Bragg NC to MD when I was discharged. Still didn't use oil. Hal
