First be sure the woodruf key is all the way into its pocket. If it is rocking out a bit it will jamb and break the collar. tapping it down flat and in might take a brass drift punch, or old soft iron bolt, to seat it. Then it may take some spray lube, and a mallet to gently tap the shaft into position. If it is still giving grief, pull it out and polish it up with 220 grit paper to shine the shaft. Then lube and insert. JimN
