Okay folks, here's a tough question. At least I think so.
I have a 1939 Farmall A, serial number 1486, and it has a Zenith 8928 carburetor. I thought it had an 8808 carb, but when I got it clean and found the tag, I learned it was an 8928. I had already ordered a complete 8808 rebuilding kit. It came with about a hundred parts. But it was the wrong one. So I ordered an 8928 kit, but it doesn't have all the parts that the 8808 has. Choke rod, plate, etc. Has anyone done any sort of "kit merge" on one of these things? I know I can find out by trial and error and careful measuring (I have verniers and mikes), but I thought I'd ask first.
Thanks for any help you can give and I send along some pics at some point.

To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
