john, this is a super m, but the m is the same. the bracket is the rear support for the hood, the stud goes up thru the hood, and there is a washer and wing nut that holds the hood down. most of the time the wing nut gets tossed so they can get the hood on and off quicker. i put a rubber washer under the hood, and then one on top when the hood goes back on. keeps the vibration down and doesnt rub the paint thru. use a mudflap from a truck and a holesaw. great source for washers!!!!
