I recently obtained a Farmall A with a "bad" Mag. No spark to any of the plugs. After doing some research on the boards here i decided to tear into the mag and see what was wrong. I heard the telltale clicking noise that told me the impulse deal was working. As i could not see any spark i thought it would be a good idea to cover the top of the mag with my hand to shade it and have my son bump the starter. Wow i aint screamed like that in a long while. My son got quite a kick out of my stupidity.
At any rate it appears as the long brass finger in the mag cap is not touching the little brass knob on top of the magnet. Is there a trick to installing the mag cap? Thanks, Chuck Davis
