Different people have a different concept of what is acceptable.
I just don't want welds to be cracked, and have the castings fit right.
I rather have the right date code on a repaired casting than a cobbled together mess of various date codes.
And then there are the guys that like pin striping and there are even some that want an HTA.
I'm glad we don't all like the same thing or the green guys would ahve all the Farmalls bought up. I'm still expecting the day when you can't buy a good H for less than $900. The running $300 ones are about all gone.
