Just a quick update for anyone who was following along with this thread...
So after figuring out that I need to rebuild my starter....AND replace the bad solenoid....AND re-charge my battery... the M still wouldnt start. It would crank over, but not fire.
I re-tightened all my wires, checked my connections from the coils, and tried to figure out what happened. Then I pulled the drain plug on the carb and got all sorts of crap out of it, including what looked like a giant paint flake. Further inspection reveals that the inlet screen on the carb is long gone, so stuff could just hang out in the bowl.
I flushed that all out, and she fired right up! She purred like a kitten after sitting out in the cold all these months. I had to run it with the choke all the way out the whole time, but its a big step up from nothing at all.
Thanks again for all of your help everyone! Its much appreciated. Happy New Year to All!
