The pictures in my 1941-1942 "The Tractor Field Book" show galvanized wheels on all of the Farmall, McCormick Deering, and International tractors. The pictures are black and white but the rims are definitely lighter than the red tractors and centers. These pictures also show the white stripes on the grills which was originally planned but was not used on regular production tractors. The white stripes are just shown on the pictures of the H & M so they must have been protypes. None of the others, except the crawlers, show the white stripes. The white stripes were used on production crawlers for a few years. What you see in "official" pictures does not always show the actual product. Automobile ads often altered even the shapes of the product to make it look faster, wider, or lower than it actually was.
