The D16 plug number was replaced D15Y about 40 years ago. They are one heat range colder but have an extended tip to get the spark farther in the compression chamber. D18Y was recommended for light duty. When leaded gasoline was no longer available the recommended plug was changed to D18Y for regular service and D21 for light duty. Do not use D21 plugs if you are going to be using the tractor for heavy use. The will be too hot and can lead to engine damage from preignition.
