Send me an e-mail address and I will send you a scan of two No. 9 mowers, one for horses and one for tractors. My brochure is probably from about 1948 (there is a Super A in the booklet, but the other tractors are H amd M). The No. 9 "Tractor Trailer Mower" has heavier drive wheels than the horse-drawn mower and is geared for tractor speeds. The "steering pole hitch" (that's "tongue" in the old days) has a crank to allow the mower to be offset behind a tractor-mounted mower. Horse-drawn equipment cannot be driven at "tractor speeds" (say 4 mph) because they are geared for "horse speeds" (probably about 2 mph). We used a horse-drawn hay rake for years, but if you tried to go too fast, you felt like it was going to fly apart.
