The big line is the suction, the little pressure. There needs to be substantial flow rate (maybe 5 times the pump volume) to assure low (or no)restriction in the suction line. Getting the air out is a hassle, as is making it look neat. I don't think there is much advantage in the filter. Heating the oil (some have used a turkey fryer outside the home) to drive out the moisture. Volatile oil is a hazzard when heated, be careful and attentive. JimN
