Putting a new head gasket on my new pruchase, the Super A. I noticed that 2 rocker arms dont line up withe the valve stem. One is only hitting the valve stem with about 60% surface area. You can tell its been like that for a long time as there is a ware pattern in the tip of the rocker arm. I know on a car, they say this is critical to have the rockers hit dead on center of the valve as it will create side load and excessive wear on valve guides. On a tractor is this acceptable? Should I get spacers and center the rocker? Do they make spacers for this problem? There is already a wear groove in the tip of the rocker, If I move it, I will have to either grind it down or get another rocker. Have you guys run into this?
