I have an International 706 with the D282 engine that I have rebuilt, the engine runs good and the clutch is good since I put a new clutch and pressure plate. The only thing that concerns me is that the brakes work but they make a loud growling noise when applied. The Hyd fluid has been changed as well as the filter. The tractor has sat for 15 years outside before I rebuilt the engine. I was thinking that the brake drums are just a little rusty and maybe need to be used to quite them down. They do work but make a loud growl when the brakes applied until the tractor stops moving. What is your suggestion remove the brakes and look inside? or use the tractor for a while and see if it quiets down. It shifts fine in all the gears and pto works.

Originally the company was called the Cleveland Motor Plow Company which began in 1912, then the Cleveland Tractor Company (1917) and finally Cletrac.
