Ray, the D206 was an IH German built Diesel. It belonged to the same family of 3,4&6 Cyl IH German Diesels. There was 3 cyl D179 used in 454,484,495,3220 about 40HP, next was 4 cyl D206 used in 624,464,584,594,3230 about 50HP, then 4 cyl D239 used in 724,574,674,684,695,4210,544 about 62HP, next 4 cyl D246 used in 784,795,Hydro84 about 67HP, next 4 cyl D268 used in 884,895,4230 about 72HP then 6 cyl D310 used in 686, Hydro88 about 70HP. Also these engines were found in several industrial models. These engines all used common parts from timing gears, pistons and sleeves. Very reliable engine. I would guess and this is only a guess that any of the 4cyl D206, D239, D246, & D268 engines would bolt up to the bell housing on a 464 as from the bell housing back the 84 series (454,464,474,674,684,584,784,884 and more) all had the same rear end just different gear ratios as the HP increased the tire size increased. In Oct. 06 my brother bought a used 3230(D206) and we transferred his 2250 front end loader from his 495(D179). The loader frame had two sets of mounting holes drilled in it. The ones for the 4 cyl D206 engine were about 6 inches farther apart than the 3 cyl D179.
