Bob: Fuel tank on Super a is about 3/4" above hydraulics Super A1 close to 2-1/2" Also couple items I forgot before, serial tag on SA is on the left seat support and on SA1 serial tag is on left side of clutch housing. The water pumps on those are down near bottom of rad and block, on the left side. Without a pump main fan belt only goes around crank pulley and fan pulley, with water pump it goes around a 3rd pulley, thus a longer fan belt.
Another item you might look at is engine serial number. It's on a machined flat surface, just below number 1 spark plug. Those numbers are stamped and not cast in place. Super A engine serial numbers after June 1952 are all over 332287, tractor serial number on that date would have been 330738. According to the number you gave 331xxx, the tractor would have been built shortly after that date. Super A1 tractors shared the same series of engine serial numbers as the Super C, starting at number 206628.
