Assuming it is a Delco, The Terminal farthest from the big Power terminal hooks to the power terminal. The other terminal connects to the band end of a three amp diode, and then to the ignition terminal of the ignition switch. Or the diode could be replaced with a idiot light to do the same thing. The idiot light must be the same size as in the dash of a GM car with that alternator. I recommend a 50 amp fuse link be placed in the main wire going to the amp gauge from the starter.
