cornfarmer: Hate to be picky, however there is a difference between I and 1. This tractor has a round axle. Tag says FAA1, which is Farmall Super A1. An industrial would say IAA1 for International Super A1. Problem is the serial number is not correct for either. All Super A1 tractors fall between 356001 and 357958. This tractors serial number is roughly 331xxx, clearly someone has been tampering with the serial tag. Ordinary Super A before serial number 356001 would be either FAA or IAA. I think you know that.
Problem here is this possibly a Super A1, only 1,957 ever built, probably one of the rarest Farmalls ever built. Folks do have a tendancy to try and create Super A1, as they do SMTA or SHTA. It looks to me as though someone, somewhere along the line thought they could create a Super A1 by adding a 1 to FAA. Truth is Super A1 are actually a Farmall 100 with SA sheet metal.
Super A1 from factory have, C-123 engine, water pump, The engine serial numbers are part of the Super C sequence, starting with engine serial number 206628, whereas the last SA had engine serial number 357449. Super A had serial number on left seat support, Super A1 has it on the left side of clutch housing, same as a 100.
