I would have to say that the middle ground bothers me a bit. I love "show" tractors. Ones that have been meticulously restored and look better than new. It's what I hope to have someday. I also love old rusty iron. "work clothes" if you will. I will just stare at a derelict on a fence row and admire it, or better yet, see one driving that looks like they just pulled it out from under a bush and got it running. What bugs me is a spray can restoration. One where little to no prep was done, but they just blasted a spray can over it to give it some color so they wouldn't lose it in the field. I guess like you, I figure the old boy deserves better.
