If it were mine I would put them in the cover with the detents in the Neutral position and look at them to check true alignment and variability of the slots. I would then make a chart to add material to each as needed so that they all measure .750 (maybe .770). Weld em up and put them in. The tip needs to be thought of at an angle in the rails, not square as shown being measured. I would put the max diagonal measure at about .6875. I would then assemble the cover and shifter, and put it through its paces to assure it will shift and retain a clean neutral. JimN
