YEARS ago, we had a 161 and a 163 windrower that had the 123 engines. I installed one of the engines in a Super A, with no major problems. There may have been one bolt different at the front, I can't remeber just WHAT the details were of that.
I don't recall EITHER having a true clutch, though, and a dummy "driving disc" bolted to the flywheel, and a shaft sticking out that had a variable-speed pulley on it that opened up enough to let go of the belt, and stop the swather, with NO actual clutch being involved. IIRC, I have the flywheel housing and SAE PTO adapter around somewhere, but now (-18º and snow) wouldn't be a good time to rummage around for them!
(I just re-read your post and see you DO NOT have a clutch, which agrees with what I've written.)
The 161 and 163 were mostly identical, except the 163 was MUCH IMPROVED be changing the angle of the cutterbar, so the guards ran PARALLEL to the ground, at operating height, rather than hanging down, which had made the 161's MUCH more prone to jamming into the ground and/or getting broken off.
