Do with it as you wish. Now if you know of some of the history of the machine then some abnormalities of the machine give it character and some history thus I wouldn't change them. Like my dad's 51 M. If I ever restore that machine it will never have fenders on it, because they were a PITA to mount and remount when you wanted to put the cultivator on the machine so once they came off they never went back on. It will also keep the older style clamp stle hubs and wheels vs the original 3 bolt hubs. Why??? Because there is a story about how and why that unit got there LOL.
