Charles: Sounds like you've got it beat. Most of the V were just ahead of the low point of the oil pan. I'm not the best to ask as all my Farmall wide fronts were 6 cylinders and they had a deep sump in the oil pan about 40% from front, and the V went across just forward of deep part of pan. Two of my tractors were 560 and 656 with 282 diesel and your engine at 188 is just 4 cylinders of the 6 cylinder 282 engine. Same piston, same sleve, engine even looks the same at both ends, just looks like someone cut 2 cylinders out of the middle.
