My 2 cents worth, I always preferred to use whatever oil I intended to run the engine with I always liked to change oil and filter after the first hour or so of running to get any hidden dirt out engine that was missed in cleaning.I have been told no additives or synthetics till it has several hundred hours on it. I'm not an expert but has always worked for me, hope this helps some
