We have an 1998 8920 MFD Magnum and love it! Magnum 7100-7200-8900 series magnums are best row crop tractors ever. you see them with 10000+ hours and still going. many times they are priced higher than the newer MX series magnum tractors. we bought ours in 2002 with 972 hrs on it. it now has 1850 hrs on it. i have put more than half the hrs on this tractor and it remains my favorite.
one important thing to know when looking for magnums is that many higher houred machines have a shift delay. this is usually caused by an accumulator that leaks. ours did at 1200 hrs. we took it to Bahl's Motors and when they pressured tested it, it blew up in their shop and got oil all over!
another thing to note is that i have yet to find a magnum that the electronic 3-pt control works on. if anyone knows how to fix this problem, please share the info.
