Remove the pulley unit to clean. It is lubed from the transmission so attempting to clean with diesel will mix with the transmission oil. The seal can be removed without removing the entire unit. Remove the cap screws & tap on the backside of the pulley flange. Remove the capscrew on the end of the shaft & slide the parts off. Reverse proceedure for installation. I like to use a VERY thin application of silicone sealer on the metal shims when re-assembling.
