Back in the 50s we did this very thing. Pulled an AC60 All Crop combine (which had its own engine) with a Farmall Super A. Had a cable hooked to the rockshaft arms, went down to a pulley beside and slightly to the rear of the hitch point and on back to raise and lower the cutterbar. Used it for YEARS. Worked slick.
