One point I never see discussed but have wondered about is the wear pattern. People somtimes ask about the depth dimension (vertical). But isn't the wear pattern in the front to back (horozontal) dimension? I would guess that the front and back corners would become rounded resulting in the problem of not getting all the way in or out of gear. Thoughts?
