Just thinking out loud here---if you were to drill on through the casting to put bolts through from the inside---what is up in the trans in this area & how close to the trans case does it run? I know that there isn't room under the bull gears for a screwdriver. The neighbor found that out after a mechanic left one in the trans case after working on it. Believe that was a 560. Anyway, put sealer on the bolts/lead washers/whatever. Just a thought.
