A little while back there was a discussion of good IH snow-plowing tractors. Several people (no offense meant) mentioned how poor the Cub was for plowing snow - well, maybe in some conditions it is, but the video link below should say something about the Cub's "snow-worthiness". We had about 8" of snow Monday night here in MO and I got out and plowed it with the Cub. Our driveway is 1 mile of gravel, with some pretty long and steep hills thrown in - and the Cub did very well. Mine has rear wheel weights - but no fronts - and I added an extra 165 lbs. on the drawbar for good measure. I was even able to plow in 3rd a little! Enjoy.

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
