I have an old IH backhoe from about 1960s. There is a lot of loose motion at the bottom of the swing trunion and am loosing lots of oil. I have determined that the bushing at the bottom of the trunion swing pinion gear is worn out causing the O ring to leak. Of course the loose motion at the bottom where the big nut goes is probably the cause.
Anybody know how to get that swing pinion shaft out of the main swing pedestal housing? It appears that the gear is too large to come out the bottom and there is a large steel bushing at the top that appears to be pressed into the housing????????????
Anybod have a parts breakdown?
This thing is so old I don't imagine the IH dealer will have any books on it anymore.
