If you are tightening the tapered shank into the steering arm on the spindle, the threads must be boogered up. Take the nut off and clean up the threads, then make sure it seats into the taper. It should tighten against the taper W/O turning. If it is a length adjustment, heating the tube may be needed, as they get rusted tight. JimN
