Has anyone moved the timing mark to the top/front of the motor on their SA, SC, etc. ?
I'm still putting the motor together (two steps forward and one step back - How did it run with the auto advance all busted up ? Five helicoils in the aluminum bars that span the front and the back of the block. etc.) and see that there are notches on the crankshaft pulley, but no pointer in the front cover. Crawling around under the belly with a flashlight looking for faint scratches on the flywheel is silly.
Any reason not to do it ?

ps Why aren't the timing marks on the crank, cam, and governor gears lined up at TDC ? The first journal on the crank is obviously to the left, and the piston is down a little when the marks line up.
