The Vet's got it right. There are three types of park lock linkages. The original 06 series style used a solid linkage that was prone to bending if the park handle was forced down while the pawl was not alingned with the teeth in the reverse driven gear. Once the linkage bends, your park pawl will not fully engage. This style was used through the 66 series. The second type was the aftermarket spring loaded linkage, which would "give" if the pawl was not lined up. Once the tractor rolled just enough, the spring in the linkage would force the pawl to engage the gear. These work OK, but are not as good as the spring loaded pawl, which came out with the 86 series. These use a solid over center linkage with a very heavy spring under the trans cover, which forces the park pawl to engage the gear. This style can be made to fit your 806, and is by far the safest.
