I have no timing marks on my 51' Super A flywheel, so I am using the pencil on the piston method, which works quite well. I am confused on exactly where TDC is for this tractor. The Operators Manual says "do not time before TDC" The IT Service manual says time at "TDC", not only for the "A" but all the others too. The articles I have read say "most tractors time at 4-6 degrees before TDC". My buddy the mechanic says you need to time it "few degrees before TDC" Whats the story? I also bought a new Pretolite distributer. I got it home & went to take the rotor off just to see the points & stuff inside. Would not slide off, cover would not come off either. I did not want ot break it so did not force it. How do I get this off? Many thanks - this is a great list
