Dave, I have a Super A and some Cubs and my manuals say to never set the timing BTC always TDC. The timing mark on the flywheel is hard to see but its there. Don't know why you are confused about where TDC is , its when the piston reaches the very top of its stroke. Don't know about your distributor. John
