Ashley: I didn't see your original thread, thus I'm going from this discussion between you and Jim. The best way to diagnose the control levers being out of adjustment, is running the tractor at low idle, then slowly move the hydraulic levers through their entire stroke. While doing this, listen for increased demand on the engine. What happens with these if rockshaft reaches end of it's stroke, before lever, then lever is trying to force it further, creating demand.
There are two adjustment on each lever; first it the yoke just below pivot of lever, which as long as the range is right will correct lever metering with rockshaft. The second adjustment is on bottom edge of touch control where activation linkage enters the unit, these can adjust the length of stroke, if that range is too long you could be getting demand at both ends of stroke.
This is covered very well in the IH Blue Ribbon hydraulic service manuals, for touch control hydraulics. Those seem to be quite rare, and the IT manual does a poor job describing this adjustment.
