Hi James, have a 454 that has been doing the same thing for years. We replaced clutch, throwout and release bearing and still does it. If you lift the Hi/Lo/Rev shift lever slightly above the N position does the rattle stop? Also the rattle is more noticeable if the range transmission is in 3rd or 4th gear.
