The #8776 head IS the distillate/gasoline head, thus the parts you got should be correct, BUT, I have encountered this problem before when I was trying to figure which kit a customer needed. I came to the conclusion that IH built their engines with several different valve lengths, and the rebuild kits available offer only one or two choices on the valve length. I know this doesn't help you any, but my advice is to buy just the sleeves, pistons, and gaskets, and let the machine shop take care of the head and valves, and let the machine shop get the bearings also.
